I am a 57 year old baby boomer who has been married since 1970 to the same wonderful man - Bill. We live in Broken Arrow, OK, and have two grown children - Wil and Shelly who live in Tulsa.
We moved to Oklahoma in the spring of 1991. Since that time, my husband and I have traveled throughout most of the state, exploring and photographing its landscapes and historical sites, as well as learning its unique history.
My goal for the Oklahoma Travel Blog is to share our appreciation of Oklahoma through travel tips, photos, historical information, recipes, trivia, and more.
Because I enjoy writing and teaching, I’ve also written several Oklahoma-related resources for homeschooling parents and teachers including The Checklist, Oklahoma History Online, and Oklahoma Scrapbook. These are available on my Oklahoma Homeschool website. You can read more about homeschooling in my blog, Empty Nest Mom.
My writing interest is also why I have so many blogs! I write another blog called, Writing Lessons, where I share my knowledge of writing and self-publishing. I also occasionally get paid to write for the Old Schoolhouse Magazine.
Because I am back in college (OSU) working my Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Public Relations, I’m also writing a blog about that experience. It’s called, EmptyNestMom Goes to College.
When I have time, I volunteer for Seasons Hospice and St. James UMC. You can read about my experience co-leading a group of baby boomers on my blog, Top 50.
I started my Religitics blog to share my spiritual life. I talk about my experience as an atheist who changed to a follower of Christ and also share my thoughts on politics. Two very touchy subjects, I know!
I hope you enjoy reading the Oklahoma Travel Blog. Please comment and let me know what you think!
